DO YOU Certification Training - July 31-August 1

DO YOU: Building Youth Resilience Through Creative Expression is a primary prevention strategy to address teen dating violence, sexual harassment, and bullying by promoting positive youth development and healthy relationships.

The Action Alliance is pleased to invite you to attend the DO YOU Certification Training in Richmond on July 31 & August 1, 2014. This training is designed for adult facilitators and teen mentors (who are peer facilitators) interested in implementing DO YOU in their communities. This comprehensive training will equip you with all materials and experience necessary to successfully implement the 10-session DO YOU program locally with small groups of teens ages 13-16.

Materials include:
• The UnCurriculum: Facilitator’s Guide (on CD)
• 250 public domain art images [for collage making]
• 20 ‘Zines [ blank teen magazines]
• DO YOU Evaluation Tools

Upon completion of this training, you or your organization may apply to become a 2014 DO YOU pilot site. Up to 4 pilot sites will be chosen and will each receive a stipend.

Date: July 31-August 1, 2014

Cost: $300; each adult registration entitles you to bring up to two teen mentors for free

Location: Action Alliance Training Center, Richmond, VA

Scholarships available: If the cost of this training presents a hardship, please submit a scholarship application prior to registering in order to be considered for a fee waiver.
