CAT: Essential Elements of Collaboration: Behavioral Health & Domestic Violence

This CAT is intended to help build capacity and improve collaboration between domestic violence programs (DVPs) and Community Service Boards (CSBs) in Virginia. Appropriate for domestic and sexual violence agency professionals and professionals working in the behavioral health field, particularly those working for CSBs. Policymakers in social services, criminal justice, mental health, and substance use could also benefit from this training. As a result of this training, participants will be better able to:

-  Understand the essential dynamics, philosophical frameworks, best practice language, and services related to domestic violence and behavioral health.

-  Define and explore trauma informed services as the common denominator bridging the fields of domestic violence and behavioral health.

-  Practice integrated, collaborative responses to trauma.

-  Identify tools, resources, and strategies for cross-collaborative/integrated service models.
