Over 2 days, this training will explore trauma-informed advocacy as the framework for providing sexual and domestic violence services in a culturally-responsive manner. We will address fundamental issues such as sexual and domestic violence within the context of rape/victim blaming culture, what it means to be culturally-responsive, practice basic crisis intervention skills, highlight prevention strategies, and more. This training is an interactive, creative space and is designed for new advocates or seasoned advocates who want a refresher and to stay up on current knowledge, best practices, and resources.
