About Us

This website is a clearinghouse of information and resources for professionals working to address and prevent sexual and domestic violence in Virginia. The resources provided here are designed to help your community enhance its response to sexual and domestic violence.  It is also designed to help improve access to services for people affected by sexual and domestic violence.

Seven statewide organizations have collaborated to create and maintain this site. The project partners are:

  • The Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance
  • The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services
  • The Virginia Department of Health's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner
  • The Office of the Attorney General
  • The Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia
  • The Virginia State Police
  • and The Virginia Poverty Law Center

These partners, otherwise known as The Virginia Partnership for Community Defined Solutions to Violence Against Women, work collaboratively to improve community responses to domestic and sexual violence in Virginia.  The partnership is funded under the Community-Defined Solutions to Violence Against Women Program from the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice.

Information and resources may be posted on this site by any of the collaborating partners and do not necessarily represent the viewpoints of all partner agencies.
