Description: The Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA) is the first United States federal law intended to deter the sexual assault of prisoners, signed into law on September 4, 2003. The PREA Summit will focus on trauma informed services in detention, navigating corrections and advocacy partnerships, and what corrections and victim services can learn from each other. The intended audience for this summit includes advocates, correction officers/law Enforcement, counselors, social workers, and anyone who works with incarcerated individuals.
Lunch will be on-your-own (a 1.5 hour break will be provided).
Cost is $20, regardless of membership
