People with disabilities are victimized by crime at higher rates than the rest of the population. This training is meant to give an overview of sexual and domestic violence as it pertains to people with disabilities and barriers to service access for this population. Within this training we will discuss Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s six key principles of a trauma-informed approach and ways to incorporate this framework into practice when working with people with disabilities.
